The evening begins with scenes from Jacopo Peri's L' Euridice, which was written in 1600 to celebrate the marriage of Maria de' Medici to Henry V of France. It was created to subsequent operatic treatments of the classic Greek legend of two of the worlds most famous lovers. Love found, lost, regained and yet lost again through eternity. The second part of the evening is the World Premiere of the operatic treatment of Tennessee Williams' one-act play, Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen. After 30 years of negotiations with the Tennessee Williams Estate, composer Larry Delinger has been given permission to compose this piece which will have its World Premiere at Utah Festival Opera.
