The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is proud to host the fifth annual Fiesta!, a spicy evening of entertainment, excitement and education celebrating Mexican heritage and culture in Utah. Bring the family and enjoy a special tribute to Mexican heritage and culture in Utah, highlighted by traditional Mexican music, dance, Aztec ritual performances, food and the ceremonial Olmec head lighting and fireworks display. Along with rose giveaways there will be ongoing games of the popular La Lotería, paper flower making, beading stringing and other children's activities, including piñata breaking. Two competitions for prizes will be held, one for the best 'sing along' with Mariachi Zavala and another for the best Cumbia dance couple (a dance workshop for first-timers will be offered by Salsa Passion Dance Academy). Imported arts and crafts from Mexico will be for sale in the Una Mano Amiga sponsored Mercado, with funds supporting health needs of children in Mexico. Finally, an International, children's drawing contest will be held encouraging participants to express what Mexico means to them. The artwork will be sent to Mexico where 15 winners will be selected.

      I was glad I was able to attend this night of festivities. There was a very cool dance exhibit and a fire bomb as well as fireworks. Also there was an amazing carved egg on display which is going to... Expand

      I was glad I was able to attend this night of festivities. There was a very cool dance exhibit and a fire bomb as well as fireworks. Also there was an amazing carved egg on display which is going to the sister city of west valley. best of all it was free to go. i think it would be worthwhile to go next year as a family activity Collapse
