The third annual 'Inca Solstice Celebration'' will be an all-day event that will include music, dance, food, and arts and crafts at the park in Presidents Circle at the University of Utah (in front of Kingsbury Hall) as well as inside of Kingsbury Hall. The show will consist of the famous Peruvian 'Scissors Dance.' Also coming to Salt Lake City for this special event is a dance ensemble interpreting traditional dances. Nostalgia Andina, a musical ensemble from Las Vegas will be performing along with several other local musicians from the Salt Lake Valley. Kingsbury Hall will also have an interstate competition of Huaylarsh Moderno (Peruvian Popular Dance). Representatives from the following states have already committed to come to Utah for this year's event: California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. The Salt Lake Film Center is also sponsoring the screening of the documentary film Soy Andina, a film that has circulated nationwide and that will be airing for the first time in Utah during the Inca Solstice Celebration.
