Adrian Van Sucthelen and Marion Hyde of No. Ogden will present a two-man show entitled 'Dialogue with Nature'. Van Suchtelen and Hyde are both Professor Emeritus from Utah State University where they had distinguished careers. Both working now as full time artists, the body of work will reflect their visual explorations and relationship to nature. Rob Adamson, Salt Lake City, will exhibit works depicting historic figures in their natural surrounding through montages from his In the Tops of The Mountains series. He has a BFA from the University of Utah and an MFA in painting and drawing from Brigham Young University. Rob is an Associate Professor at the Salt Lake Community College in the Visual Art and Design Department. He works in oil on board and canvas. He has appeared in numerous exhibits throughout Utah. Chase Leslie, Salt Lake City, was educated in art from the University of Utah. Her current works are abstracts that energetically express color fields and form with beautiful surface quality and visual depth. She works in oil on panel with multiple layers of color and expressive marks. Janet B. Clark, Bountiful, started out in watercolor but became intrigued by the idea of painting in oils. She has participated in and sold her work in art shows, including Bountiful/Davis Art Center and Plein Aire competitions in the region, winning several awards. Laurel Casjens, Salt Lake City, works in Digital Infrared Photography. She has been a serious photographer for over 25 years. She has worked in the museum field for over 20 years and has also taught photography. Trees are often the subject of her images showing them in a new light because the green leaves reflect large amounts of the infrared spectrum our eyes cannot see. Leaves glow and sharp edges soften creating a surreal world. Jerry Thompson, Kearns, was educated at the Los Angeles Art Center and has had a successful career working as an illustrator and fine artist. He worked at Bailey & Montague and many other firms in Utah and New York. He was commissioned by the LDS Church to produce a book of religious content. Seven years and 950 illustrations later Book of Mormon Stories was published in 1998. Today he paints mostly in western landscapes often with figures of Native Americans. Theresa Otteson, Farmington, has traveled extensively and lived in Europe for several years. Her expansive oil paintings often reflect her travels and transport the viewer to other lands. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Utah. Chris Adams, Clinton, graduated from Weber State University and currently teaches art at Roy Jr. High School. He has been in numerous exhibits and has commissioned pieces hanging in private collections. The 'Perilous Times Series' is an examination of the dark side of the human condition.
