Hyam Plutzik, poet and English professor at the University of Rochester, graduated from Trinity College in literature and poetry. Winner of the Yale Poetry Award for his poem The Three. He went on to write many significant poems throughout his life. In 1949, he published his first collection of poems, Aspects of Proteus. Important themes throughout his poetry are the relationship between poetry and science as modes of expression, and the questions of Jewish identity. Plutzik also wrote short stories, science fiction, fantasy and children's literature. His last published work was Horatio (1961). It was a long poem on the Holocaust. The documentary film is based on Hyams life. It is the desire to understand how a poet becomes forgotten, and what it takes to bring his work back to the public.
