Meri DeCaria has been a dedicated artist and gallery director at Phillips Gallery for 18 years. She continues to delight viewers with her playful shapes, colors and spirit de vivre. At first glance, her paintings may appear to be frivolous due to her whimsical approach, but it doesn't take long to see the greater presence and energy they invoke. Images exalt in the space where anxiety and control collide. Nel Ivancich is a veteran to abstract expressionism. She earned her M.A. at the University of Utah in 1988 and has exhibited consistently enchanting imagery throughout her career. A contemporary of their beloved Lee Deffebach, Ivancich's work exudes the confidence required to pull off such work. There will be an Artist Reception/Opening on Friday, September 19 from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
