Clark Planetarium hosts its fifth annual Gala fundraising event to support the planetariums education programs to Utah schools. These programs benefit schoolchildren and teachers statewide through community outreach initiatives focusing on science and space education. Proceeds from the gala event help fund leading-edge education programs designed for children and teachers to learn about space science outside of the standard classroom setting. Themed 'It's Only a Paper Moon,' the gala includes a cocktail hour, dancing to live music and dinner by some of Salt Lakes best area restaurants, plus silent and live auctions featuring items such as tickets to the Conan OBrian Show, local area ski passes, a river rafting trip, signed Utah Jazz memorabilia, and travel, hotel, dinner and entertainment packages. Science demonstrations and film presentations will showcase the latest programming in the Hansen Dome and ATK IMAX Theatres. All proceeds from the gala help to benefit the education programs and services provided by Clark Planetarium to Utah schoolchildren, teachers and families.
