The show Little Shop of Horrors is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. The musical made its debut off-Broadway in 1982 and included a Book and Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Lyrics by Alan Menken. The show tells the story of Seymour and Audrey, two down on their luck residents of Skid Row, and the way their life is turned around when Seymour 'finds' a strange and exotic plant. The Empress' show is directed by Dr. Susan Whitenight and features Danny Eggers and Erin Fair performing on Saturdays and Mondays as Seymour and Audrey with Jacob Clark and Brianna Mackay performing the roles on Thursdays and Fridays. Also in the cast is Glen Carpenter (S/M) and Nolan Mitchell (T/F) as Mr. Mushnick and Ben Printy (S/M) and Richard March (T/F) as Orin Scrivello, Audrey's dentist boyfriend. Shawn Maxfield provides the voice of the plant, Audrey II at all performances. Be sure to book your tickets early for this perfect Halloween Season production, and as a special treat the Empress is offering a 'Spooktacular Deal' If You bring a group of 5 to any of the Thursday or Monday performance, your tickets will be discounted to $5 per person. Friday and Saturday performances are regular price, but if you attend those days you can stay for that evening's Jesters Royale performance. Jesters Royale is the Empress' improv troupe.
