Follow your bliss describes the artistic path of oil painter, Amy Ringholz. Moving from Ohio to the West in 2002, she found work at an historic dude ranch to make her way, while she was building an identity in the art world. Blessed with a gift, the creative spark and a pure heart, Amy brings her journey of discovery to her art. Her unique process; drawing in ink then adding colors inspired by the west, brings her renditions of the animal kingdom to life. Ringholz was chosen as one of Southwest Art Magazine's 21 Under 31 Emerging Artists of 2006 and as one of Artist's Magazine's 25 Under 40 in 2007. Mixed media artist Lisa Lamoreaux was recently honored with a one-man show at Antioche University. She approaches her canvas with the end result in mind, only to discover that the relationship between the medium and brush results in more interesting and complex narratives and compositions than the subjective mind originally conceived. This process of 'getting out of the way' holds deep meaning for her, as is staying present with the process and noticing the connections between her internal state, the environment, and the manifestation of this on the canvas. Systems Theory, a model found in physics, is Lamoreaux's primary source of inspiration, which demonstrates the interconnectedness of all things.
