Garrett Smith of Hammers Inc. Photography is a meticulous visionary and an intense participant in the world around him. His devotion to his art is matched only by his devotion to discovery and adventure, and the two often harmoniously come together. His love for the mountains is apparent in his work. In his photos one can experience the grandeur of a lavender sky reflected in the Dead Sea, and feel the thrill of climbing a sheer granite face. He has traveled around the globe, peering through the obscuring haze of cultural diversity and conflict to find genuine beauty that exists beyond preconceptions. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Garrett has practiced photography from a young age, when, captivated by the life occurring around him, he "borrowed" his mother's point and shoot camera. Now, he often wakes early, striding out into the dawn, camera in hand, to capture that ideal morning light. In all his endeavors, and especially his art, Garrett strives to excel. His driven and individualistic nature, leads him off the beaten path, to wanderings that foster creativity and insight.
