Sean Toomey began painting scenes from the New Jersey shore when he was twelve. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1972 and began interpreting the Utah landscape. Toomey has studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, the San Francisco Academy of Art, and the University of Utah, where he earned a degree in Arts Communications and Marketing. His paintings have been included in several exhibits including the Utah Watercolor Society 2008 Spring Open Exhibition, the Utah Watercolor Society 2008 Fall Open Exhibition, the Utah Watercolor Society 2009 Spring Open Exhibition, and the Traveling Exhibits Program of the Utah Arts Council in 2008-09 and 2009-10.
