The Egyptian Theatre is pleased to host Candye Kane for a night of powerful Blues music. Candye is a strong female Blues singer who has had to fight her own way in the music business which makes her music authentic and powerful. Coming from a dysfunctional blue collar family she became a mother, a pin-up girl and a blues-belting anarchist all before the age of 21. The past year has brought ups and downs for the crooner, being nominated for three 2010 National Blues Foundation Awards, and beating down pancreatic cancer. She belts - growls - shouts - croons and moans from a lifetime of suffering and overcoming obstacles. She uses music as therapy and often writes and chooses material with positive affirmations that leave the audience feeling healed and exhilarated.
