VAI Spring Semester Classes

Mondays * Intro to Drawing
Suggested for first time students of VAI. Teaches the basic concepts and techniques of making art through drawing
Tuesdays * Painting
This class will center on painting techniques including color, material, and opaque and transparent paint applications.
Wednesdays * Ceramics
Through this course students will learn how to develop functional ceramic ware and sculptural art works.
Thursdays * Book Illustration
Students will develop ideas to write and illustrate a simple story of their own, creating a finished bound book.

Jr. High & High School * 4:30-6:30pm in Sugar House & 4-6pm in Sandy
Students provide their own supplies for Jr. High & high school classes (instructors will provide a list of suggested supplies).

Monday * Still Life Oil Painting
Students will learn oil painting techniques relating to color relationships, material, and paint application.
Tuesday * Digital Photography
This class will teach the fundamentals of digital photography through lighting, subject matter and composition.
Wednesday * Soft Pastel Drawing
Through this class students will learn how to draw with soft pastels. They will explore color, and the principles and elements of drawing.
Thursday * Architecture
In this class students will design architectural structures through drawings and model building.
