The concert will feature great transcriptions and virtuosic new music for winds. On this concert will be two special guest artists, including a 16 year old piano prodigy, Maggie Whatcott, a student of Dr. Yu-Jane Yang and sister of two WSU Music graduates. Ms. Whatcott will perform Gershwin's immortal "Rhapsody in Blue" with the Symphonic Band. Also on the Symphonic Band portion of the program will be portions of the Kozhevnikov Symphony #3, for band, and of "Pines of Rome" by Respighi.
