Asher in the Rye and The Blackbirds are emerging as two of Salt Lake City's great acoustic groups. Asher in the Rye mixes passionate voices into sweet, raucous harmonies that play well over an acoustic foundation. The Blackbirds' inspired brand of minimalist folk rock music pays as much homage to 1970s punk as the era's folk heroes.
