Energetic dancer, singer, and actress Rita Moreno was born in Puerto Rico to a family of independent farmers. She moved to New York City with her mother when she was five and appeared on Broadway at age 13. Mostly appearing in musicals, her most notable roles include Zelda Zanders the Zip Girl in Singin' in the Rain and Tuptim in The King and I. Her big breakthrough came in 1961 with her role as the spitfire Anita in West Side Story, winning her an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She is one of a handful of people - and only the second woman - to win all four major American entertainment awards: an Oscar, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush in 2004. This legendary Broadway/film diva will be on the Kenley stage for one night to sing the hits of her career.
