Large Format Photography: Film in the Digital Age Exhibition

The works in this exhibit were completed by students in the Large Format Photography: Film in the Digital Age class taught by Assistant Professor of Photography Jeremias Paul. This particular assignment had two goals. The first goal was to give students an understanding about how the eye and cameras see color. Color images were created using only black and white materials by shooting three black and white images through red, green and blue filters. These images were then combined to create the finished color image. Secondly, students were urged to think about the color associated with the image by only allowing them to make a single color image. Photography students, similar to painters worked to create concepts and studies of their ideas toward their final master work. "Each image's theme was influenced by the notion of making one image that would represent them in a historical context," says Paul.
