    Breathe Owl Breathe Outdoor Summer Concert
    Thursday, June 17 at 7 pm
    Cost: $15 adults / $10 children (12 and under)
    Ages: all
    Breathe Owl Breathe is Michigan-based trio Micah Middaugh, Andréa Moreno-Beals and Trevor Hobbs. Their music sounds as intimately familiar with woods and wild as their band name suggests, but there’s an air of cosmopolitan sophistication too. They sing of folklore, homespun miracles and nature.     FREE admission and activities all day thanks to Weber County RAMP funds
    10-10:45 am: Meet Chitters, Ogden Nature Center’s very own “Flying Tiger.” Learn what makes this owl a powerful top predator.
    1:00 pm: Take a bird walk with a teacher/naturalist and make a bird mask to take home

    The Nature of Tea
    Place: Dragonfly Health Foods / 260 Historic 25th Street, Ogden
    Saturday, June 19 at 2 pm
    Cost: $12 members / $15 nonmembers
    Ages: Children old enough to participate are welcome
    Extend your pinky fingers and join us for tea! In partnership with Dragonfly Health Foods, Cheyenne Herland, Ogden Nature Center botanist and teacher/naturalist, will teach about the plants from which teas and tisanes are made, tea history, health benefits and more. A deliciously fresh, light lunch and tea tasting are included, as well as live music. Pre-registration required by Thursday, June 17 to 801-621-7595.

    Wild Wednesdays - Summer Solstice Time
    Wednesday, June 23 at 3:30 pm
    Free for ONC members
    $2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
    Ages: all
    Come learn about the summer solstice at the Ogden Nature Center. Find out why some days are longer than others. With the help of a few live animals, discover how animals and plants, including humans, adjust to the long days of summer. Meet in the Visitor Center.

    Sunshine Breakfast Benefit
    Thursday, June 24 at 8 am
    Free / donation
    Ages: adult
    Come enjoy a delicious summer breakfast on the back lawn of the Visitor Center and learn more about the Ogden Nature Center and its many life-enriching programs. Afterwards you may want to wander the trails and revel in the sunshine! Donations will be gratefully accepted. Reservations are required by Thursday, June 17.     Ogden Area Summer Garden Tour
    Saturday, June 26 from 10 am - 4 pm
    $15 per person / held rain or shine
    Ages: all
    Eight local homeowners are opening their garden gates to the public for an Ogden area Summer Garden Tour. Stroll through some of our community’s gem gardens and enjoy live music, art & delicious goodies. This is an amazing chance to gather ideas for your own garden. From water-wise and native plantings to color combinations and clever design elements, you’ll be treated to heavenly sights, smells and sounds. This tour is hosted by The Ardent Gardener Landscape Design and all proceeds will benefit the Ogden Nature Center. Tickets may be purchased online at www.ogdennaturecenter.org, by phone at 801-621-7595 or in person at the Ogden Nature Center Visitor Services Desk.

    10-10:45 am: Meet Gidget, a little, but mighty owl. Learn how the Northern Saw-whet Owl not only survives, but thrives, in the wild.
    1:00 pm: Explore Tadpole Pond with a teacher/naturalist and make a dragonfly/butterfly craft to take home

    Wednesday, June 30 at 3:30 pm
    Free for ONC members
    $2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
    Ages: all
    What can dive at over 200 miles per hour? What has a beak that acts like a can opener? Falcons! Spend time observing a live falcon while learning about these fast and fascinating birds. Meet in the Visitor Center.

    Earth Friendly Cleaning Products Workshop
    Thursday, July 1 from 6 - 7pm
    Cost: $8 for members / $10 for nonmembers
    Ages: 8 and up
    This will be a fun and productive evening spent making non-toxic cleaning supplies for your home. Learn some simple recipes for healthier cleaning products using items commonly found in everyone’s pantry.
    Create household cleaners that will be both easy on the environment and on your wallet. You’ll leave with freshly made window cleaner, furniture polish, all purpose cleaner and a host of recipes to create your own green cleaning kit. Please bring two empty spray bottles and one glass jar (old mason jars or old salsa jars work great). We’ll provide all the ingredients, information, and a good time.     10-10:45 am: Meet Des Ta Te, the Bald Eagle. Learn about eagles and find out how the Bald Eagle became the national symbol of America.

    Wild Wednesdays -- Red, White, and Blue: A Special Independence Day Program
    Wednesday, July 7 at 3:30 pm
    Free for ONC members
    $2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
    Ages: all
    In this special Independence Day program you’ll learn about Bald Eagles and why they are our national symbol with the help of the Ogden Nature Center’s own Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te. Then go outside and search for things in nature that are RED, WHITE, and BLUE. You’ll be amazed at what you can find! Meet in the Visitor Center.

    FREE admission and activities all day thanks to Weber County RAMP funds
    10-10:45 am: Meet Sampson, the Red-tailed Hawk. Learn what makes this hawk a buteo and find out how to recognize them in nature.
    1:00 pm: Fairies at the Ogden Nature Center? Yes! But these you’ll make and take home. Join volunteer Fran Bush in a fun and creative art project designing fairies out of dried flowers. Space is limited. Please call 801-621-7595 to reserve your spot by Friday, July 9.

    Brenn Hill Outdoor Summer Concert
    Thursday, July 15 at 7 pm
    Cost: $15 adults / $10 children (12 and under)
    Ages: all
    The Utah born singer/songwriter Brenn Hill creates music that not only pays homage to Western music’s finest traditions, but also serves as a passport to today’s Mountain West. His songs are filled with interesting characters and eagle-eyed observations on life, love and the indomitable Western spirit.     Local Fare in the Field Dinner

    Cost: $60 includes dinner and concert tickets

    The Ogden Nature Center is offering another Local Fare in the Field Dinner -- this time with a cowboy green cuisine twist! This event will feature food grown locally and prepared fresh at your table by local chef Arlan Gagestein of Peddlers Catering. Participants are asked to bring their own plates to cultivate stories around the dinner table and save on the use of paper products or rented dishes. Your plate will be rinsed clean and returned by the end of the evening. First choice parking and concert seating will be given to dinner guests. Reservations must be received by Saturday, July 10.     Wild Wednesdays – Shorebirds 101
    Wednesday, July 14 at 3:30 pm
    Free for ONC members
    $2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
    Ages: all
    Get up close and personal with Einstein the American White Pelican (whose beak can hold more than his belly can). Learn about the special adaptations that shorebirds utilize. Discuss the importance of the Great Salt Lake and learn about several different shorebirds that call Utah home. Meet in the Visitor Center.

    Plein Air Oil Painting 3-Day Workshop with Doug Braithwaite
    Thursday, July 15 – Saturday, July 17 / 8 am – 5 pm
    Cost: $265 for members / $280 for nonmembers
    Ages: adult
    The Ogden Nature Center is excited to offer a plein air oil painting workshop with Doug Braithwaite, a nationally recognized painter who we are proud to call one of our own! Doug Braithwaite has painted for over 20 years and taught workshops for over 15 years. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and studied under such artists as Paul Davis, Dave Dornan, Tony Smith and Ed Maryon. He grew up in Northern Utah and has lived here his entire life. The workshop will present strategies for painting outdoors in any light and with any subject matter. Participants will start with compositional ideas, value and then, finally add color -- nuts and bolts exercises. Doug will talk about brush stroke direction, size and hierarchy. We will practice absolute color and relative color. Registration is required.     Wednesday, July 28 at 3:30 pm
    Free for ONC members
    $2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
    Ages: all
    Join us in celebrating Utah’s unique history. Travel back in time with a teacher/naturalist as we share stories and folktales from the past. Then take a short hike and learn about Utah’s special geologic history. Meet in the Visitor Center.

    Saturday, July 31
    FREE admission and activities all day thanks to Weber County RAMP funds
    10-10:45 am: Learn all about tortoises and snakes and what makes them reptiles. Meet Ogden Nature Center’s very own Desert Tortoise and be introduced to native snake species.
    1:00 pm: Make tree treats for the birds in your backyard

Call in your reservation and pay with VISA or MasterCard, or come in person to pay with cash or check. We cannot accept reservations without payment.
