Cleanflix follows the rise and fall of the Mormon movement to edit Hollywood films of inappropriate content. In Utah, an entire industry arose around a few entrepreneurs who realized they could make a lot of money by sanitizing movies of sex, violence, and profanity and then re-selling these movies to their cautious customers. Initially, the business was a huge success, but soon major show-business forces such as Robert Redford and Steven Spielberg came knocking, wondering what exactly was going on.
