Description: (a)perture marketing will present the second annual event, Art Meets Fashion (AMF), at the Salt Lake Art Center in downtown Salt Lake City on October 16, 2010. AMF is a diverse city event that presents runway inspired fashion shows in alternative artistic settings. Each event is unique to the host city and features local fashion designers, visual and performance artists and local restaurants. The community inspired event is designed to benefit local non-profits. By showcasing the fashion arts amidst a backdrop of fine art, (a)perture aims to bring attention to all aspects of the artistic experience.
AMF, Salt Lake City, will open with an exclusive cocktail hour from 6-7:30 p.m. offering artistically inspired “tasting stations” featuring culinary delights from locally owned restaurants. Tastings will be paired with select fine beverages. Runway fashion shows will commence at 7:30 p.m. and will debut Spring 2011 lines for featured local designers; Rebekah McKinney, McKell Maddox, Jordan Halversen, Krista Nielson, Rachael Domingo and Keith Bryce. Also featuring unique designs by Michelle Boucher within a live fashion photo shoot by acclaimed fashion photographer Jake Garn, student designed fashion and art installations from Salt Lake Community College Fashion Institute and the Art Institute of Salt Lake.
100% of all ticket sales will benefit Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Salt Lake Art Center. Tickets are available at Arttix by visiting www.arttix.org or calling 801-355-ARTS (2787). Tickets are $50 and $35 for students and include a selection of fine food and beverages.
