Award-winning author Alexandra Fuller has written three books of nonfiction. Her debut, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood, was a 2002 New York Times Notable Book, the 2002 Booksense Best Nonfiction book, a finalist for the Guardian's First Book Award, and the winner of the 2002 Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize. Her 2004 release, Scribbling the Cat: Travels with an African Soldier, won the Ulysses Prize for Art of Reportage. Her most recent book is The Legend of Colton H. Bryant, which tells the true story of the short life and horrific death of a Wyoming oil rig worker.

Fuller has also written extensively for magazines and newspapers including The New Yorker and National Geographic magazine; she also contributed the essay on Wyoming for the 2008 book State by State: A Panoramic Portrait of America. She is currently at work on a book to be published in 2011 titled Cocktail Hour Under the Tree of Forgetfulness, a prequel/sequel to Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood.

Cosponsored by the Environmental Humanities Graduate Program at the University of Utah.
