Don't miss New Play Project's new musical comedy based on the Young Adult Fantasy novel by Stephen Gashler. Beautiful maidens, evil wizards, kings that light things on fire, knights hitting each other with swords, this thrilling adventure is for all ages, a celebration of chivalry, damselry and awesome music.

      Saturday I attended New Play Projects musical The Bent Sword playing at the old Provo Theater. Honestly I was delightfully surprised to find a show full of heart. This small group of young actors seem have put together by sheer force of will, a tale that, while rough around the edges, left me smiling: not to mention humming on the drive home. While I felt the leads did an excellent job I would specifically like to praise the several actors who played multiple smaller roles continually providing a plethora of subtle comedy. Well done! The love put into this production was clearly communicated and heart-felt. I laughed out loud frequently. While I must admit the show is a bit rough, all in all it was worth my evening, and I recommend it to anyone looking for something fresh, something other than the same old repeated-off-Broadway stuff.       Saturday I attended New Play Projects musical The Bent Sword playing at the old Provo Theater. Honestly I was delightfully surprised to find a show full of heart.
