Gallery MAR features new paintings by George Bodine and Kirk Tatom this month. Bodine is a self-taught artist who eschews labels. He prefers to focus on what moves him as an artist instead of paying attention to a painting in a particular style. For him this often means creating works that transcend time. While Bodine creates moody, peaceful scenes of Europe, Tatom is best known for capturing the quiet moments found in rural settings all across the world natural wonders sprinkled with occasional birds, bovines, and barns.
