Add Review/Comment
A musical gift to the community featuring live nativity and original music reflecting on the Savior's birth.
2008 Saw the first year of "Echoes Of Christmas" and was very well received. Our hope is to make this an annual gift to the community. The event is suitable for families, youth groups, civic groups, church groups, and other interested persons. This outdoor search for the meaning of life involving interactions with a solitary shepherd boy; shepherds watching their flock; a high priest at the temple; wise men from the East; an inn keeper and his wife; Mary and Joseph; and hosts of angels.
Guests will rotate from one scene and musical presentation to the next being led by shepherds guides. The event is produced by Virginia & Bob Baird, with original music by Clive Romney, orchestration by Larry Bastian, and direction by Marilyn Montgomery. This event will surely become an annual favorite.
There are propane heaters providing some heat at each station. Audience will walk to each of the seven stations (about 1,000 yards) along cement and/or plywood walkways.
Each of the seven stations has live performers representing different aspects of the nativity. The performers will sing to their own voices pre-recorded to the original music. Each station's performance last 2-3 minutes before your group is ushered to the next performance.
The event takes approximately 30-40 minutes to walk through each of the seven stations. 2009 saw the longest wait to get into a group to be 30 minutes. Average wait was only a few minutes. The last group usually goes through apx 8:45 pm each night finishing at 9:30pm. There is a dress rehearsal open to the public on the night before the opening performance.
"The inspiring music, realistic portrayals, live animals, cheerful cast members, wood fires, gentle lighting, fresh snow, and torch light combined to more than offset the bite of the cold. This was an experience I will not soon forget. Thank you all for your significant sacrifices!"
"Thank you ...Last night, my family and I went to Liberty Park and watched in awe as men and women, dressed in wonderful costumes and in full character, sang about the Savior and the message of peace and hope. Our children loved seeing the real animals and hearing the sounds they made. Despite the cold and darkness of the night, our hearts were filled with warmth and light. I urge you to go. It's free and an experience you'll never forget."
