Discovering America's Musical Roots: On the Road with David Holt

Grammy-winning musician David Holt spent years visiting small Appalachian towns to learn traditional American folk music from some of the art form's last remaining experts. Over time he learned how to play ten instruments including the banjo, washboard, mouth bow, bottleneck slider guitar, and even the paper bag. This special event with Holt is designed to introduce school age children to the magic of the folk music of America. This program is made possible with support from the Western States Arts Federation, National Endowment for the Arts, Utah Arts Council, and Utah Valley University.
