VAI Summer Workshops! Figure Academy, Drawing Safari, and Art and Movement.  Figure Academy.  An intensive, critical, two-week figure study for junior high and high school students, this course... arms students with observational and drafting skills they will need to continue their artistic pursuits in high-school, college, and beyond. This workshop provides a model, offers in-depth daily critiques, and includes both drawing and painting-which is vital in portfolio building. Tuition is $500 per session, students are responsible for their own supplies and meals. Both sessions will be held at VAI at Garfield.
1 session: July 6-17, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (with one hour lunch at 12pm), for two weeks.
2 session: July 20-31, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (with one hour lunch at 12pm), for two weeks. Drawing Safari This two-week workshop offers elementary school students an imaginative and focused course in observational drawing. They will hone in on general drawing skills, and touch on structure through observing and drafting the animals in the fun environment of the Wheeler Farm! Tuition is $180 and includes a VAI t-shirt and all art supplies. July 18-29, 10-11:30 am. Students meet at the entrance to Wheeler Farm at the beginning of class, 6351 South 900 East, SLC, UT 84121 Art and Movement VAI's new all-day, exciting summer art camp! This summer camp will be aimed at forming connections through movement of the body and art. We will be engaging many contemporary art forms-exploring installation art, performance art, and intuitive drawing and painting. With the participation of a certified gymnastics instructor, we hope to fuse the practice of art with awareness of body to create a meaningful and fun art experience. Tuition is $360. July 5-15, 9am-3pm @ VAI in Garfield
