    Presenting a lecture titled, "Roy Harris's 'Toccata for Piano:' Setting the Record Straight," Pamela Palmer Jones will discuss twentieth-century American composer Roy Harris and his Canadian-born concert pianist wife Johana Harris, who were one of the most influential musical couples in the United States during the 1930s-'60s. This lecture discusses Johana's role as Roy's muse, copyist, and collaborator, and presents Johana Harris's unpublished corrected version of the Toccata for Piano as she played and taught it until her death in 1995.

        About the artist:
        Fernando Espindola has been playing Andean music since his early teenage years in Bolivia. As a native of Oruro, the city famous for having the most elaborate carnival in Bolivia, he was exposed to a concentration of folklore that would be difficult to equal anywhere else.
