    Utah's biggest summer event, the 2012 Utah Arts Festival is set to run in downtown Salt Lake City on Library Square. For 36 years, the Utah Arts Festival has showcased the diverse talents of Utah's artistic community, while featuring outstanding artists from around the country. Opening night takes off with Texas singer and songwriter James McMurtry. For four days and night Festival guests can catch a full range of musical styles from Americana rockers Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, contemporary bluegrass group Blue Highway, Asian-American hip hop rapper Sonny Bonoho, world music ensemble Chicago Afrobeat Project, gospel and soul big band Mike Farris and The Roseland Rhythm Review, rock and soul by Joe Jordan Experiment, Israeli guitar virtuoso Oz Noy, Brooklyn-based funk and rock 'n' rollers The Pimps of Joy Time, bluesman Curtis Salgado, New Orleans brass band sensations Stooges Brass Band, reggae legends Third World, and contemporary jazz by TIZER featuring Karen Briggs.
