Ilya Kaminsky was born in Odessa, formerly the USSR, and currently lives and teaches in San Diego. He is the author of Dancing in Odessa. He has won the Whiting Writers Award, Lannan Foundation Fellowship, American Academy of Arts and Letters' Metcalf Award and other honors.
Gary Lutz is the author of four short story collections: Stories in the Worst Way, which was included in a list of thirty-five new classics.
