    2013 Utah Arts Festival

Art Fans Unite! The 2013 Utah Arts Festival will transform Downtown’s Library and Washington Squares into a four-day playground for art lovers June 20-23. The Festival, celebrating 37 years, presents the latest and best in visual arts, literature, live local and national music acts, film, performance arts, delicious culinary fare and more.

While enjoying the Festival, cast your eyes skyward to catch the return of BANDALOOP, whose six dancers perform complex, dynamic choreography suspended from climbing ropes. In what they dub vertical dance, BANDALOOP utilizes the unique curving glass façade of the Downtown Library as its stage. BANDALOOP seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality, intricate choreography and the art of climbing to turn the dance floor on its side.

For the first time this year, Festival-goers can transform into a colorful work of art during the Color Me Rad 5K. This charity run, taking place on Saturday, June 22, will directly benefit the Utah Arts Festival. Runner and walkers of all ages can become living art as they race in and around the Festival. Blasts of color made from non-toxic, rainbow-colored cornstarch powders will "paint" participants as they transform into moving abstract canvases.

The Utah Arts Festival is the state's largest outdoor festival celebrating the fine arts as well as multiple arts disciplines. The Festival features more than 155 visual artists and 100-plus performing arts groups, drawing 80,000 patrons each June to revel in the heart of Salt Lake City.
The Festival features artists from Utah and beyond. Visual arts include 2-D and 3-D mixed media, ceramics, digital art and photography, drawing and pastel, fiber, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metalwork, painting, photography, sculpture, wearable art and wood.
