Art Access is hosting five 8-hour art workshops for adults with and without disabilities. Each workshop is taught by a local professional artist.

#1 CUT & PASTE ³PAINTING² with Erin Berrett, February 21st
Participants will learn the technique of cut and paste ³painting² which is a type of collage by which one uses a variety of papers to create a still-life that looks very much like a painting.

#2 WRITING from WITHIN with Anikó Sáfrán, February 28th
Participants will explore tools for breaking through ³writer¹s block², discuss ways of improving style, and focus on thematically inspired writing.

#3 ILLUMINATED GRATITUDE with Cassandra Christensen Barney, March 14th
Participants will create a narrative acrylic painting on tin, using the language of symbols and self-portraiture reminiscent of Mexican retablos and ex-votos.

#4 PRIMITIVE STYLIZED REALISM PAINTING with Szugye, March 28th
Participants will develop a personalized realism style by taking the human figure to its basic level, using body language and coloration.

#5 The POWER of ART to CREATE SOCIAL CHANGE with Trent Alvey, April 11th
Participants will choose a social issue and express it visually using a variety of techniques including collage, assemblage, words, and paint.

Each all-day Saturday workshop (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) includes art supplies and a boxed- lunch for a $50 fee (which can be reduced or waived if needed). The workshops will be held at the Art Access Gallery, 230 South 500 West, #125 in Salt Lake City. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
