    Explore movement through dance, martial arts, & physical theater at an internationally-renowned workshop set in the stunning desert and mountain scenery of Utah.

    Students from Ririe-Woodbury’s Move-It Workshop will showcase their own choreography drawing from what they have learned throughout the workshop on Friday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre at Rose Wagner.  This performance is free and open to the public.

    Three Week Workshop*: July 20-August 7, 2009
    Registration: $525 (before June 1, 2009)* 
    Explore a range of dance fundamentals and special topics with some of the most innovative, forward-thinking contemporary artists working within the fields of dance and theater. This year's workshop will focus on modern dance technique and improvisation, the choreographic process, dance conditioning, physical theater, Aikido, and Capoeira. There will also be performance and choreographic opportunities at the end of the workshop.  Featured faculty includes Charlotte Boye-Christensen, Kay Andersen, Tom Welsh, Eric Handman, Kay Cummings, and Jamaika, a nationally renowned Capoeira instructor.
    *Registration after June 1, 2009 - $575 ($50 deposit due at registration) / 3 semester credit hours available / Also Consider other grant or scholarship sources to help with tuition!

    Technique Class: July 20-August 7, 2009
    One Class: $10 / Week Punch Card (5 Classes): $40
    Can't take the entire 3-Week Workshop? The Technique Class offered in the mornings from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. is available for students to drop in for $10 a class or $40 for the entire week. Punch cards can be purchased the first day of the workshop or in the Ririe-Woodbury office during Workshop hours. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the class if purchasing cards. See Class Schedule for list of instructors.

    Teacher's Workshop**: July 27 - 31, 2009
    Registration: $190, Utah Teachers: $90 (before June 1, 2009)**
    This is a workshop designed for teachers who are working in the university, professional, and secondary school settings. Shared experiences in technique, choreography, improvisation and experiential anatomy will provide participants the opportunity for artistic growth and rejuvenation. The mixed group of educators will address trends in the field and issues of dance training and dance making in order to increase and elevate the dialogue about teaching in the field.
    **Registration after June 1, 2009 - $210, Utah Teachers $110 / $25 deposit due at registration / University and in-service credit available.
    Those signed up for the Teacher's Workshop can add on the Three-Week Dancer's Workshop for only $150 for one week or $300 for both!

    Young Dancer's Workshops: Two-day workshops from August 10 - 15, 2009
    Registration: $75
    These two-day workshops, taught by the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company dancers, are designed specifically for high school and middle school students. Classes include: modern dance technique, improvisation, folk forms, ballet, jazz, yoga and repertory. The Young Dancer's Workshop provides an incredible opportunity for students to work closely with Ririe-Woodbury Dancers. The Company will perform dances from their repertoire for the workshop participants. Workshop dates: August 10 & 11 / August 12 & 13 / August 14 & 15
