Sordid Lives tells the tale of Ty, an actor living in New York City, who fears his Texas family will reject him on account of his homosexuality. He wants more than anything to return for his grandmother's funeral, but doesn't want to have to act straight for all of his old friends and family. As Sordid Lives follows Ty's individual growth through an often hilarious line-up of hilarious conversations and situations, at its heart there is a very contemporary story about tolerance and not being afraid to be oneself. No matter how dysfunctional Ty's family appears there is an intangible cohesion that holds them together as only family can.
