Cabaret, Kander & Ebb's acclaimed Tony award-winning musical, comes to the Egyptian Theatre in Park City. Cabaret is set in 1930’s Berlin just as the Nazi’s come to power. Master of Ceremonies, played by Christopher Glade, and his tawdry Kit Kat Girls provide distractions from the outside world. From the opening act where the MC declares 'Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome,' the patrons are ready to forget their woe’s and enjoy the show. Life is a Cabaret old friend, Come to the Cabaret! Director, Terence Goodman says he wanted to make this production of Cabaret every bit as “provocative, sexy and decadent” as the original Tony Award-Winning Broadway production, “No one in Utah has ever produced Cabaret the way we are doing it here in Park City at the Egyptian Theatre.” Goodman, who also serves as the theatre’s Artistic Director selected Cabaret because not only is it highly entertaining but, also extremely thought provoking and relevant to current events. “There is no escaping that theater is politics, politics is theater and it is our artistic duty in theater to ask questions while at the same time entertain the masses the best we can.”
