The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Joseph is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams, and his father's favorite son. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar's wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph's gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh (wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis), Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognize. After testing their integrity, Joseph reveals himself leading to a heartfelt reconciliation of the sons of Israel.

Actually...I've been to a couple productions at Center Street with my family and we've thoroughly enjoyed them. I've also heard from others of my friends that they've enjoyed CSMT's productions.

Provo's Center Street Theatre is a budget-friendly, volunteer experience. The dinner was good, the facilities adequate, but the performances--even with a microphone glitch here and there--were stellar. I was surprised to see such incredible talent in the lead roles. There were several actors of professional caliber whose solid singing, lively expressions, and apparent impromptu moments of audience interaction made this a good experience and well worth the cost. Again, don't expect a Broadway style production, after all it is a community theatre (Tight budget, etc.). However, the authentic looking costumes were very impressive and the unique stage was well appointed for the show, making the show very easy on the eyes. Anyhow, I would definitely recommend the show as a good value. Collapse
