Terrace Plaza Playhouse is pleased to present My Fair Lady. My Fair Lady is a musical based upon George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion and with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Leslie Richards directs this performance which stars Jessica Knowles (South Ogden as Eliza Doolittle, Caleb Nelson (North Ogden) as Henry Higgins, and as Alfred Doolittle - Andrew Oliverson (Roy) and Jim Stratton (Layton). Henry Higgins is taking notes on British dialects, notably that of Eliza Doolittle. He tells her that he and his friend, Col. Pickering, can teach her to speak like a lady, so that she no longer need to be a flower-seller, but can open her own shop, and she flirts lightly with the idea. Next day, Eliza appears at Higgins' home to ask him to teach her proper diction, and he agrees. However, her Cockney mannerisms and moralities become so exasperating to him that he nearly gives up. She, in turn, is driven to distraction by his thoughtless treatment and incessant instruction. Can these two work things out or will and ego prevail? Don't miss this outstanding production featuring songs that are musical theatre favorites.
