Utah has some of the most spectacular wild lands in the nation and some of the most heated debates about what to do with them. Most Utahans have experience camping, hiking, fishing, or recreating outdoors; many are involved in careers that require them to engage with land-use issues. Not all may be familiar with the depiction of wilderness in many contemporary works of literature. Hal Crimmel, a professor of literature at Weber State University and author, will explore the various ideas about wilderness expressed in these works, and how they can help us refine and improve our conversations about wilderness areas.
