Add Review/CommentBased on the novel by Egyptian author Alaa Al Aswany, the film is a fascinating portrayal of modern Egyptian society since the coup d'état of 1952. Following the stories of several characters, the film reveals the urbanization of Egypt and the burgeoning population growth in Cairo which affects the poor and working classes.
