Add Review/CommentBased on Eiji Yoshikawa's book Musashi Miyamoto, chronicling the life of the 17th century warrior of the same name, Inagaki's film version (in three parts) is an engrossing tale of a young man's turbulent journey through old-world Japan. Miyamoto dreams of battle, yet finds himself on the wrong side of a civil war. His chance at redemption comes from a loving woman and a wise priest who puts him on the path to enlightenment...and the way of the samurai.
