    Ring Around the Rose Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center Ring Around the Rose Presented by Repertory Dance Theatre at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center September 10, 2011-May 12, 2012 Ring Around the Rose is Repertory Dance Theatre's wiggle-friendly series of performances for children and families that explores the magical world of the arts, including dance, theatre, music and storytelling. Ring Around the Rose is made possible in part by grants from the Utah Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Salt Lake City Arts Council, and the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks program.

      I picked a dance concert to enjoy an evening of performance art. Instead I got a show that while designed for kids, it was performed lackadaisically. The execution was poor, it was performed out of sync, the acting was slapstick hammy and still not funny. There was one section that was called teamwork that gave me some hope, it had some originality. Another scene was a lip-sync that was fun. But the rest was just insulting. I wouldnt be so critical but I paid for this performance. I understand they intended it to be a lighthearted piece but even if it was for my children I would have wanted the performers to demonstrate so that my children might appreciate how exciting and fun dance can be.       It seemed very well put together. Well performed and very symbolic. I'm not a very avid attendee of dance in general, but i enjoyed it! The symbolism, was just perfect for the event.
