Utah Cultural Celebration Center

The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is dedicated to enriching and strengthening communities by promoting the expression of the arts, education, opportunities for economic development and the celebration of human diversity. The Center is designed to strengthen a sense of unity among the people of the Wasatch Front by highlighting cultural wealth and creativity and offering a forum to celebrate the residents' talents in music, dance, performance and visual arts. They work to provide a place where family and friends can come together, and where cultural arts are nurtured, promoted, and celebrated. This is a facility that is destined to become a home for the rich traditions of Utah's people, and a place where new traditions are born. Come join the Celebration!

      Enjoy “Tunes and Tails from the Cowboy Trails”, a nostalgic ride through the music that shaped the West. Small part lecture and large part music – performed live – and set to historical photography, Hired Guns will help you rediscover (or just discover!) songs like The Streets of Laredo, Ghost Riders in the Sky and The Marshal and the Outlaw and the stories behind them. It’s 90 minutes of story and music you won’t soon forget. Come early to meet Lannie “The Marshal” Scopes and Craig “Creek” Johnson before the show at the National Night Out, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Utah Old Time Fiddlers will be on hand, along with other entertainment for your viewing and listening pleasure. National Night Out includes free food, entertainment, emergency preparedness displays, a visit from McGruff, a UHP Helicopter, emergency vehicle display, and much more. National Night Out is a way to help build community relationships between neighbors and the City. It is the Nation’s premier anti- crime Collapse

      I attended the opener which had a great turn out. Approximately 400 visitors attended. There is a very diverse group of sculptures. If anything could be found to improve the show it would be an increase in the number of artists who are represented. I know the Utah Cultural Celebration Center made a huge effort to present this opportunity to the artists of Utah. If any artists read this review and wish to be in the show next year there is a whole year to get art ready for submission. If you want to see some awesome art by the artists of our state then this show is certainly a place to be. Best of all, IT'S FREE!! Collapse

      I was glad I was able to attend this night of festivities. There was a very cool dance exhibit and a fire bomb as well as fireworks. Also there was an amazing carved egg on display which is going to the sister city of west valley. best of all it was free to go. i think it would be worthwhile to go next year as a family activity Collapse

      Los Hermanos de los Andes blends different cultures on stage and in the audience. The percussions were magnificently blended with a melody of vocals. The songs were explained with a visionary beauty taking the listeners on a journey to Italy, Peru, Mexico, Chili, and Ecuador. The zampona (bamboo pan flute) artist floated across the bamboo tubes was grace and wonder. He made you float high with the Condor and trickle down a tributary of the Amazon. I wanted to join the Incan civilization in the festivities, visional grasping the brilliant colors as the people celebrated the celebration. The excitement was great my heart was full and at one point my heart pounded with excitement. The Italian piece played was soothing with waves pounding against the sea shore all created by the different flutes these talented musicians demonstrated. Collapse
