    Comment on Facebook

Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation developed as a result of civic minded citizens who wanted to coordinate recreation activities throughout the County and manage the rapid growth of the programs for the benefit of county citizens. As a result Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation was formed and came into existence on May 11, 1946. Ten days later the organization dedicated its first park in East Millcreek, today over 50 years later with 70 plus parks, and over 20 recreation facilities we are still "Improving Lives Through People, Parks and Play."
