Dracula
Orem Public Library
Presented by Orem Public Library
at Orem Public Library
July 2, 2010
Dracula was the film that started the wave of horror films throughout the 1930s and 1940s and introduced Hungarian actor Bela Lugosi to the American consciousness. Lugosi's thick Hungarian accent seems to personify the character of the chilling, nocturnal, blood-sucking Count. The first scenes in and around Castle Dracula are the best, but the surreal, almost slow-motion movement of Dracula as he approaches his victims is appropriately eerie.
