Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music

Established in February, 2008 in partnership with The United Way of Northern Utah, the mission of Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM) is to promote and provide the community of Ogden with live traditional and contemporary acoustic/Americana music; provide educational, musical opportunities for youth; and to expand OFOAM events into an annual festival. OFOAM concerts are been made possible by a Weber County RAMP Award (Recreation, Arts, Museums, Parks) and the generous support of our sponsors.

    06/05/10	Eilen Jewell Band Marshall White Community Center Eilen Jewell Band Presented by Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music at Marshall White Community Center June 5, 2010 This event kicks off the Marshall White Recreation Center summer season with free swimming all day and a live performance by The Eilen Jewell Band.
    06/04/10- 06/06/10	Ogden Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival Fort Buenaventura State Park Ogden Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival Presented by Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music at Fort Buenaventura State Park June 4-June 6, 2010 Fort Buenaventura hosts a three day bluegrass and acoustic music festival in the great outdoors. There will be onsite camping available with campground jamming and band workshops. The Festival line-up features Claire Lynch Band, Eilen Jewell Band, Dave Alvin, Sacred Shakers, Bluegrass Patriots, Sister Wives, Red Desert Ramblers, Kap Bros Band, Ridin' The Fault Line, 2nd Baptist Choir, Red Rock Hot Club, Driven, Blue Sage, Dan Weldon, and more. The association is excited to bring back the Kruger Brothers! Regional and local bands will include Sawmill Road, Cold Creek, The Band of Annuals, Red Desert Ramblers, Mike Iverson Bluegrass Band, Stormy Mountain Boys, Ridin' The Faultline, Bill Vernieu and Joanna Joseph, and Roby Kap Acoustic Trio. Playing a blend of European folk, American old-time, and bluegrass, Jens (Pronounced Yens) Kruger redefines the 5-string banjo, and coupled with lead vocalist and guitarist Uwe (Pronounced Oo-vay) Kruger, and Joel Landsberg on the bass, they form a perfect musical alliance promising an unforgettable evening.
    06/11/08	The Kruger Brothers Ogden High School The Kruger Brothers Presented by Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music at Ogden High School June 11, 2008 Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music present the bluegrass and acoustic sound of the Kruger Brothers, a virtuoso acoustic trio. A great opportunity for kids to learn about this unique form of new American music: a blend of European folk, American old-time, and bluegrass. Possibly the most beautiful Art Deco structure in the Western United States, Ogden High School Auditorium provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable performance.
