The Off Broadway Theatre

The Off Broadway Theatre (OBT) is Salt Lake's downtown hot spot for comedy. Since 1994, we have presented famous comedies, musicals and plays such as: Noises Off, Little Shop of Horrors, See How They Run, and more. OBT is also the home of Utah's longest-running and most popular improv comedy show, Laughing Stock. If you've seen Whose Line Is It Anyway, you know the basics. The difference is, here there are no TV cameras and tape editing. You see the genius and the foolishness. Often times, the foolishness is more funny. And, it's what sets Laughing Stock apart from the rest.

    Greece Is the Word The Off Broadway Theatre Greece Is the Word Presented by The Off Broadway Theatre at The Off Broadway Theatre May 18-June 16, 2012 The fifties are back at the Off Broadway Theatre. Literally- the year 50 A.D.- in ancient Greece. However the teens who attend an ancient Greek Philosophy High School behave just like normal teens doing what all typical teens do. They perform school plays, drag race, and wear togas to the Smock Hop in the gym-natorium. An inventive and side-splitting comedy.

    "Y" Light The Off Broadway Theatre "Y" Light Presented by The Off Broadway Theatre at The Off Broadway Theatre September 28-October 29, 2012 Back by popular demand, this OBT Halloween parody explores what life would be like for Mormon Vampires down at BYU, and how they would relate to their arch enemy Ute Indian tribe werewolf counter parts from the U. Poor Ella has moved to American Forks and is caught up in this love triangle, until the original vampire, Count Dracula arrives on the scene and wants Ella for his own. This musical parody will leave you rolling in the aisles.

    Off White Christmas The Off Broadway Theatre Off White Christmas Presented by The Off Broadway Theatre at The Off Broadway Theatre November 23-December 28, 2012 Another new Christmas comedy here at the Off Broadway spoofs the Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye musical White Christmas, but ours is just a little Off. This comedy is sure to have laughs as the main characters dress as women to get out of some sticky predicaments, and also sing and tap dance their way to fame and fortune. There may even be a Christmas Miracle or two. Be sure not to miss out on this fun filled comedy.

      The costumes and props were awesome and the show was enjoyable. If you're looking for something to do, I'd recommend spending an evening with the Transmorfers. I like that the theater writes their own... Expand
