Book Arts Program At the J. Willard Marriott Library

The covers of a book enclose worlds constructed of text and image. To open a book is to expose the intimate details of story, experience and idea. Part of the J. Willard Marriott Library since 1995, the Book Arts Program champions wide-ranging explorations of the book. In our fully equipped studio, bookbinders, printers, and book artists utilize type, letterpress, photo engravings and bookbinding equipment as they combine traditional techniques with modern aesthetics and technology.

    Simple Book Repairs for At-Home Curators J. Willard Marriott Library Simple Book Repairs for At-Home Curators Presented by Book Arts Program At the J. Willard Marriott Library at J. Willard Marriott Library February 8-March 7, 2012 This five-week workshop offered by the Marriott Library’s Book Arts Program covers foundational book repair techniques. Manual dexterity and patience are recommended. Participants receive a kit of basic materials and tools as well as damaged books on which to practice.

    Olympic Experience Exhibition J. Willard Marriott Library Olympic Experience Exhibition Presented by Book Arts Program At the J. Willard Marriott Library at J. Willard Marriott Library February 1-February 29, 2012 The Utah Ski Archives at the University of Utah's Marriott Library will host the "Olympic Experience Exhibition" highlighting the many Utah residents who participated in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and associated events on the U. campus.
