About the artist:

Elizabeth Abbott is an actor, singer, voice/dialect coach, and arts career consultant based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She frequently appears on stages throughout the Salt Lake area and can be seen and heard in a variety of film, commercial, and voice over projects. An accomplished singer, Elizabeth has trained with renowned vocal coach Brett Manning. She proudly holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of Utah, and recently returned from training at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford. Proficient in over 20 accents/dialects, Elizabeth regularly dialect coaches stage productions throughout the Salt Lake Valley and aids individual actors in preparing for auditions and roles requiring accents/dialects. She assists actors in improving stage standard speech and works with foreign actors on accent reduction. Additionally, she has coached singers for musical theatre. Liz is editor of and contributor to Frank Gerrish’s handbook Accents and Dialects for the Actor. She has also co-taught the affiliated course. This summer, Elizabeth will complete a graduate certificate in vocology through the National Center for Voice and Speech. For the past ten years, Liz has been developing resources to most effectively assist artists in achieving their career goals. In her roles as Arts Career Counselor and Fine Arts Academic Advisor at the University of Utah, she has researched and gathered 4000+ effective arts career web links and developed several of her own unique arts career tools--the most comprehensive collection of arts career resources anywhere. In addition to web resources, she offers career consulting services to aspiring, emerging, and established practitioners in all areas of performing, visual, literary, and film/media arts. For her contributions in this area, Elizabeth has been recognized as a certified Change Leader with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums.
