Roz Newmark

About the artist:

Roz studied at Rosella Hightower's Le Centre de Danse in France. She holds B.A. degrees in dance and photography and an M.F.A. degree in choreography from the University of Utah. She has been an active performing and visual artist for over two decades and she has taught, exhibited, choreographed and performed throughout the United States. She is a member in the Artist In Education Programs in Utah, Idaho, Kansas and Wyoming Roz;s photographic work has been published in numerous books and exhibited throughout the country. Over the years Roz has combined dance with various media, including neon sculpture and film. Roz often incorporates her skills as a fiddler and vocalist into her work. For the last five years she has performed with the Crescent Moon String Band touring the west, breaking the fun meter on a regular basis. Recently, her multimedia performances have combined dance, vocals, music and storytelling in the duet group called Ripple Tales.
