Kirill Gliadkovsky's performances have been met with great enthusiasm by both audiences and music critics in Europe, Russia and North America. Josef Woodard, a critic at the Los Angeles Times, writes: "...the intensity and a nicely honed musicality left the audience stunned...enthrall[ed]...all in all, a gripping and masterful performance". Since making his first public appearance at the age of 6, Mr. Gliadkovsky has toured extensively on three continents performing piano and organ recitals and appearing as soloist with orchestras. He has collaborated with such well-known conductors as Pierre Boulez, Mehli Mehta, Gordon Johnson, John Farrer, Mischa Semanitzky, and Alexander Treger. Venues have included Moscow's prestigious Bolshoi, Maliy and Rachmaninoff Halls; St.-Petersburg Philharmonic's Glinka Hall; Purcell Hall, London; Merkin Hall, New York; Jack Singer Hall, Calgary; Royce Hall and First Congregational Church, Los Angeles; Orange County Performing Arts Center, Costa Mesa, CA; Centers for the Arts in Scottsdale and Chandler, AZ; National Gallery of Art and Catholic University, Washington, DC; Philharmonic Hall, Poznan, Poland, and many others. Mr. Gliadkovsky has performed at various music festivals such as Aspen, Ventura, Music in the Mountains, and Redlands Bowl festivals. Kirill Gliadkovsky was born in Moscow and commenced music studies at the age of 5. He attended the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow where his teachers included renowned musicians Lev Vlasenko, Mikhail Pletniev (piano) and Leonid Royzman (organ). Mr. Gliadkovsky earned his Master’s and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at the University of Southern California with Professors Daniel Pollack (piano), Cherry Rhodes (organ), and William Schaefer (conducting). He has coached with Ann Schein, Herbert Stessin, Stephen Kovacevich and Lev Naumov. Kirill Gliadkovsky has won numerous prizes at international piano competitions in Europe and the United States, including Citta di Marsala (Italy, 1990), Joanna Hodges (California, 1991), and San Antonio Keyboard Competition (Texas, 1994). He was a winner at American Guild of Organists Young Artists Competition (Santa Monica, 1993). Mr. Gliadkovsky is an orchestra and choral conductor. He performs on harpsichord, as well. He performs in a duo piano team with his wife, Anna Gliadkovskaya, herself an accomplished concert pianist. Their nine-year-old daughter, Anastassia, enjoys joining them at the keyboard, too. He has been a faculty member at the University of Southern California, Pepperdine University and Santa Monica College. Currently, Dr. Gliadkovsky is the head of piano studies at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. Additionally, Mr. Gliadkovsky has given numerous masterclasses in Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Flagstaff, and Washington, D.C. His students have won prizes at various piano competitions and have been accepted at schools such as USC, UCLA, Manhattan School of Music, Northwestern University, Peabody and San Francisco Conservatories, UC Berkeley, UCSB, UNT and USU. When not performing or teaching, Kirill enjoys being with his wife and daughter, and pursuing his hobbies of astronomy, hiking, and gardening.
