Critically acclaimed artist Dave Tate’s dynamic songwriting combines intimate finger-picked acoustic guitar, passionate tenor vocals, and poetic imagery to show how strong quiet can be. A native of the red rock desert of Zion National Park, Tate’s music reflects the vast spiritual beauty of his homeland. Most of Tate’s released records maintain intimate lyrical themes and autumnal acoustic tones. Tate’s early influences, however, spanned across a wide range of genres. After his start as a guitarist/singer for the Ska/Punk group Jimmy’s First Kiss, Tate began to study guitar and classical voice extensively, performing lead roles in a number of Operas. In 2006 Tate’s persistence in refining his craft began to pay off. In 2006 Tate released The Solitude of Here, which CDBaby called “...by far the most grabbing male folk album we’ve seen in months.” The album also received stunning press from the Netherlands. Folk Forum raved, “This masterpiece is worthy of a place in the singer/songwriter Hall of Fame,” and Heaven Magazine stated, "He possesses the special kind of talent you only see come along once a decennium. If you're lucky." In 2008 Tate released The Final Hour his follow up album to the The Solitude of Here. The Final Hour received critical acclaim in the Netherlands where Tate has accumulated a growing following. Heaven Magazine raved, "His own unique style (think of a cross between Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley, not just in style but also in quality) hits such a level of perfection that it's hard to comprehend anything more beautiful." In 2009 Tate released The Same Heart, the first duet cd with his wife singer Victoria Lagerstrom. The Same Heart is a collection of songs about their story of their Trans-Atlantic romance. Lagerström came to the US from Stockholm, Sweden to write and record with Tate. The couple fell in love and Lagerström, not using her return ticket to Sweden, was married to Tate among the red rock cliffs of Zion three weeks after her arrival. In December 2009 the duo embarked on their second successful European tour to support The Same Heart.
